The Writer’s Jam is an annual competition where storytellers are given one weekend to create a short story inspired by 1 of 5 single-word prompts!

SUBMISSION RULES & FAQ
Prompts will not be released until the Writer’s Jam begins on July 4th. You will have ~72 hours until I release an announcement stating that the submission window has closed on July 7th to submit your piece as a blog/news post on Newgrounds!
Please keep your submission between 500-2500 words.
You are REQUIRED to submit your piece to the #writers-jam-2025 channel on my Discord server for me to see it! Please also tag your piece with “writers-jam-2025” on Newgrounds :)
Writing must be done individually! You are welcome to request/commission artwork, narration, etc. to spice up your piece, but the actual written content must be solely your own.
Pieces of all types and genres are welcome, from poetry to nonfiction! Use your strengths to your advantage and get creative!
If no response is received by a top 3 winner in a reasonable amount of time, their prize money will be forfeited and returned to sponsors. Prize money must be able to be received through PayPal.
